Perceptions on meeting your online “match” in person

Dating apps have made it easier to connect, but safety remains a major concern when meeting someone in person. Here’s what respondents shared:

  • Confidence levels: more than half (53%) said they are not confident about meeting someone from a dating app in person. 33% feel neutral, while only 14% feel confident

  • Top priorities when meeting:

    • Safety & security – 80%

    • Knowing more about the person first – 18%

    • Location privacy – 1%

  • Use of safety apps: a strong majority (72%) said they do or would consider using a safety app to share their location when meeting someone new. 18% said maybe, while just 10% said no

💡 Insight: The results highlight a confidence gap in online-to-offline dating, with safety being the top priority. Many are open to using technology-like safety apps to give them peace of mind when meeting for the first time.
