Safe Travelling with Children

Travelling with children brings unique safety considerations. We asked parents and carers about their confidence levels and the role of technology in keeping families safe:

  • Confidence when travelling with children:

    • 50% feel no difference compared to travelling without children

    • 38% feel less confident

    • 12% feel more confident

  • Use of technology for safety:

    • 33% currently use GPS trackers, location sharing, or safety apps

    • 49% don’t use them but think it would be a good idea

    • 18% don’t see the need for any technology

  • Most helpful technology features:

    • Real-time GPS/location sharing – 48%

    • Incident/emergency reporting – 12%

    • Safe zone alerts – 12%

    • Digital ID/emergency contacts – 8%

    • Travel safety tips & guides – 8%

    • None of the above – 10%

💡 Insight: While half of respondents feel just as confident travelling with children, nearly 4 in 10 feel less confident. There’s strong interest in technology, especially real-time GPS tracking to give parents added reassurance on journeys.
