Who do you think domestic abuse is mainly experienced by?

The overwhelming majority of respondents identified women as the main victims of domestic abuse (84%), while only a small proportion selected children (8%) and men (8%).

This reflects a widely held perception (and reality) that women are disproportionately affected. However, the responses also highlight a potential gap in awareness around the experiences of other groups, including men and children, who are also impacted but often less visible in conversations and reporting.

💡 Insight:

While it’s critical to recognise the scale of violence against women, broadening awareness is key to ensuring all victims feel seen, supported and able to seek help.
