Travel Trends

Sustainable travel is an important topic as people balance cost, convenience, and environmental impact. Here’s what respondents said:

  • Considering environmental impact: 40% said they always consider the environmental impact when choosing how to travel, while 35% do not. A further 25% sometimes take it into account

  • Willingness to pay for greener options: only 22% would pay more for greener travel (e.g., electric trains). 32% would not, while nearly half (46%) said it depends on the cost

  • UK’s role in promoting sustainable travel: a strong 68% believe the UK is doing enough to promote sustainable travel, while 16% disagree and 17% remain unsure

💡 Insight: While many people care about environmental impact, cost remains the biggest factor in decision-making. There’s support for sustainable travel but affordability will likely determine uptake.
