Public bleed kit locations in Westminster added to Travel Guardian

People living, working and spending time in Westminster can now use Travel Guardian to find publicly accessible bleed kits across the borough.

The locations have been added to the Travel Guardian map at the request of Westminster City Council, helping make emergency equipment already available in local communities easier to discover.

Westminster has been rolling out public bleed kits across the borough as part of its wider work around first-aid preparedness and public access to emergency equipment . Council information describes the initiative as a borough-wide rollout designed to improve access to equipment that can be used in the event of severe bleeding while emergency services are on their way.

By plotting the locations within Travel Guardian, residents, workers and visitors have another straightforward way to find out where public bleed kits are available nearby.

Mark Balaam, Co-founder of imabi, said:

“Westminster has invested in making public bleed kits available across the borough, and mapping those locations through Travel Guardian helps make that investment more visible and easier for people to find when they need it.

“We’re pleased to support Westminster City Council in making this information more accessible to residents, workers and visitors.”

Connecting people with Westminster’s wider safety support

The bleed kit programme forms part of a much broader picture of safety provision across Westminster.

The Council’s Safe Havens network gives people who feel vulnerable somewhere to stop, charge their phone, wait for a taxi or get help contacting emergency or specialist services.

Westminster’s Night Stars also provide practical support to people who find themselves vulnerable while out at night.

This wider focus on making safety support visible and accessible is also reflected in the Westminster After Dark Strategy 2025–2040, which includes creating a safe and secure Westminster after dark as one of its key priorities.

More information about Westminster’s wider safety work can be found on the Council’s Crime and community safety page.

Travel Guardian is designed to help bring useful local information like this closer to the people who may need it – from emergency equipment and Safe Havens to support services and other local safety resources.
