Bracknell Forest launches new Women and Girls Safety Charter

A new Women and Girls Safety Charter has been launched in Bracknell Forest, bringing local organisations together around a shared commitment to help women and girls feel safer throughout the borough.

More than 70 people attended the launch on 19 August, representing local businesses, public services and community organisations. The Charter sets out nine pledges covering areas including zero tolerance, prevention by design, staff training, victim-centred support and partnership working.

Rather than being a statement of intent alone, the Charter is designed to encourage practical action. Signatories will receive access to an implementation toolkit offering guidance to help them put the pledges into practice within their own organisations.

Bracknell Forest Council has partnered with imabi to provide a dedicated digital platform for the Charter. Powered by imabi, the platform will give signatories a central place to access guidance, resources and updates, helping organisations remain connected and turn their commitments into practical action.

Mark Balaam, CEO and Founder of imabi, attended the launch. He said:

Businesses and organisations across Bracknell Forest are invited to join the Charter and contribute to making workplaces, services, public spaces and community settings safer and more inclusive for women and girls.
