Do Men Speak About Their Mental Health?
Conversations around men’s mental health are growing, but stigma and fear of judgment still hold many back.
We asked people about their perceptions and experiences, here’s what they told us:
Comfort speaking openly: just 21% believe men feel comfortable discussing their mental health in public, at work, or at school. The majority (79%) feel men are not comfortable doing so
Fear of being judged: a powerful 86% said they (or someone they know) have avoided asking for help due to fear of judgment, compared to only 14% who said no
Anonymous support matters: 64% believe that easier access to anonymous support or reporting tools would encourage more men to seek help. 21% said it wouldn’t, and 14% were unsure
💡 Insight: These results highlight how stigma remains a major barrier but also show the demand for safe, anonymous ways for men to access mental health support.
