imabi joins the Railway Industry Association as rail safety and safeguarding remain in focus
imabi has joined the Railway Industry Association, becoming part of the UK rail supply community as we continue to build our work across transport, safety and connected public spaces.
Founded in 1875, RIA has spent 150 years representing and championing the organisations that support the railway. Today, its membership spans more than 450 companies across the rail supply chain, from infrastructure and engineering to technology, services and innovation.
For imabi, joining RIA strengthens our connection with the rail supply community and with the wider conversations shaping the future of the sector, including passenger confidence, staff support, safeguarding, digital innovation and safer journeys.
imabi has previous rail-sector experience having developed and powered the pioneering Railway Guardian app.
The Safer Railway Scheme has brought renewed attention to safety, security and safeguarding across the rail network, including how organisations support passengers and staff, protect vulnerable people and make reporting routes easier to access.
The rail industry is also continuing to focus on Violence Against Women and Girls, including the wider issue of violence and intimidation affecting passengers and frontline colleagues. These are not abstract policy areas; they directly affect how safe people feel when travelling, working or spending time across the railway network.
imabi’s work in rail is focused on making information, reporting routes and support easier to find and more closely connected to the places people travel through. This includes clearer communication, safeguarding, passenger confidence and staff support across stations, routes and local communities.
Joining the RIA gives imabi the opportunity to engage more closely with the organisations and suppliers supporting the railway, and to contribute constructively to conversations about safer, better-connected rail environments.
For imabi, this is another step in our wider mission to use responsible technology to connect people, places and communities in ways that are practical, accessible and focused on positive social change.
