imabi x Hestia: Expanding Access to Safe Spaces

At imabi, our mission has always been simple: to keep people safe, connected, and informed. Today, we’re proud to announce our new collaboration with Hestia and the UK SAYS NO MORE campaign, making it even easier for people across the UK to access Safe Spaces when they need them most.

This partnership is more than just about technology - it’s about making sure that nobody feels alone or without options, whether they’re at home, on the move, at work, or simply going about their day.

About Hestia

Hestia is one of the largest providers of domestic abuse refuges in London and the Southeast. It is also the main organisation supporting victims of modern slavery in the capital.

Beyond its frontline services, Hestia is also the home of the UK SAYS NO MORE campaign, a powerful national movement against domestic abuse and sexual violence. Through this campaign, Hestia has pioneered initiatives that provide safe, discreet, and accessible support:

  • The Bright Sky app: developed in partnership with Vodafone, helping people identify and access domestic abuse support

  • Safe Spaces: offering safe physical locations across the UK

  • Online Safe Spaces: providing discreet digital support

About Safe Spaces

Safe Spaces was created in 2020 as part of the UK SAYS NO MORE campaign, during the COVID-19 lockdowns when many victim-survivors found themselves trapped at home without access to specialist services.

Safe Spaces can now be found in more than 6,000 pharmacies and banks across the UK. These spaces offer a confidential, secure environment for anyone experiencing domestic abuse to seek help, speak to trained staff, or access specialist services.

About Online Safe Spaces

Launched in partnership with the Royal Mail Group in September 2020, Online Safe Spaces is a discreet digital portal. It opens in a pop-up window on both internal and external websites, providing:

  • Practical support and advice

  • Contact numbers for specialist services

  • A quick exit option

  • No trace in the browser history

This means individuals can seek help safely online without leaving a digital footprint.

  • In the Travel Guardian app, users can easily find Safe Spaces near them through our Noticeboard feature, giving people peace of mind while travelling, working, studying, or simply going about their daily lives

  • On the imabi website, we’ve embedded the Safe Spaces widget in the footer, so support is always just one click away
