CEO & Founder

Mark Balaam, Founder & CEO of imabi, draws upon over 30 years of experience in national security and policing. Concerned for the safety and well-being of his daughters, Imogen and Abigail, Mark embarked on the journey of creating imabi to address the challenges of an increasingly perilous world. His vision for imabi extends beyond conventional safeguarding, aiming to prevent negative occurrences through education and empowerment. In his rare moments of free time, Mark enjoys family activities and fitness pursuits, with a budding interest in golf.

Co Founder

Paul Bush, Co-Founder of imabi, shares a long-standing partnership with Mark spanning 25 years. United by a desire to effect transformative change, Paul and Mark envisioned imabi as a comprehensive solution to the disjointed and reactive nature of safeguarding initiatives. With a passion for innovation and societal progress, Paul envisions imabi as a global authority in tailored factual information. During his leisure time, he escapes to enjoy the outdoor wonders of the French Alps.

CTO

James Candy, Chief Technology Officer at imabi, believes that technology has the potential to foster positive change. Committed to utilising state-of-the-art technologies for societal betterment, James sees imabi as a vital tool for informed decision-making and proactive intervention across various sectors. As a family man, James enjoys walking the hills with his loved ones and their Golden Retriever, as well as sports like tennis, sailing and cycling.

CFO

Thomas Addy, fractional Chief Financial Officer, was inspired by imabi's commitment to creating safer communities and fostering positive societal behaviours. As a strategic advisor, Thomas plays a crucial role in aligning imabi's financial strategies with its values and social impact objectives. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his young children and family. One of his passions is football, where he likes to analyse matches, strategies, and player performances.

Business Development Manager

Paul Fennelly is our Business Development Manager, motivated to join us by the desire to make a meaningful impact in a wider societal sphere with his role here at imabi. Paul firmly believes that educating younger generations via schools and teaching children responsible behaviour is crucial. He considers the imabi ecosystem to be a groundbreaking tool, hence his commitment to ensuring as many communities as possible have access to our powerful platform. As a father of three and grandfather of two, he cherishes time with his family outside of work, in addition to enjoying his hobbies of motorcycling and rugby. 

Chief Marketing Officer

Abbie-Jaye Wilson, Chief Marketing Officer at imabi, collaborates with the company by delivering a robust and strategic communications plan to elevate imabi's presence in the public eye. Enthusiastic about imabi's potential to transform lives, Abbie-Jaye aims to reach a broader audience and increase brand recognition through strategic marketing initiatives. Her weekends are packed with quality time spent with family and friends, along with plenty of walks. She is also a keen netball player, a sport which first became a permanent fixture in her life during her school days.

Advisor

David Selves, Non-Executive Director, brings over five decades of entrepreneurial success to imabi, driven by a desire to contribute to meaningful societal change. Inspired by imabi's commitment to safety and well-being, David is proud to support a dynamic company addressing issues that will impact future generations. He envisions imabi as a premier safeguarding and wellbeing platform, positively impacting millions globally. In his free time, David is involved in cricket, charity work, and community broadcasting.

PM

John Jacovou, our Project Manager here at imabi, has been with us for over three years. He's deeply committed to our vision and mission, joining our startup journey after first being drawn to Mark's passionate leadership. As someone who was bullied at school, John feels he can relate to the daily trauma experienced by those in a similar position; because of that, he continues to push the boundaries to break through the currently accepted norms for a kinder, safer society. John believes that what sets the imabi team apart is its collective passion for making a difference, evident in every aspect of their work. In his free time, he keeps himself busy with gardening, mixed martial arts and trekking or walking.
